Colour Only Certain Columns In Pivot Table

I've done quite a bit of research but haven't managed to find an exact solution:

    Pivot.jpg

If a column begins with e & a space (these are calculated fields by the way) - I want to colour that column for the whole pivot table.

I don't think it's possible but I ask the question just in case. I've seen a macro that can incorporate structured references with a pivot table but I don't want to do that at this stage as there is enough going-on with the spreadsheet as it is without macros.

It is quite easy to set up a conditional formatting rule to do what you want:

    =LEFT(A$4,2)="∑ "

    and apply to $A:$O

but the problem with doing this in a pivot table is that if the pivot table data is refreshed, it may wipe out any formatting, including CF rules, that you set up within the table.

Hi 6String, yes that's easy to do, but this is a pivot table which is constantly being refreshed so that's not really a solution in this instance.

Thanks for your input. As I say it's possible with a macro & there's an article out there on this exact sort of thing, but I'm going to have to leave it alone on this workbook as there's a lot going on.
