    Overlapping error bars

    Dear,

    I'm struggling with building a perfect chart for my research paper.
    I've measured 4 different conditions (4 lines on the graphs), this was done twice (x-axis '1' and '2').
    Every dot is a mean value. I'd like to plot the standard deviations too. This by using error bars.
    Unfortunately, as you can see, the error bars are overlapping. This makes the graph unclear.
    Are there any solutions for moving the different dots aside so they are not beneath eachother?
    All solutions are welcome!

    What is the relationship among the four conditions? If they are independent I would use four graphs.

    The points can be staggered but it depends on how you have organized your data in your file. Can you attach a file, or depiction of what the chart data looks like?

    The conditions are 3 different timepoints of measuring and a controlgroup.
    In the attachment, you can find the specific data with the chart.

    I added a second chart that makes these changes:

    I changed the chart to scatter with lines
    I added data in row 40 to force each series to be staggered
    I updated the series to use the corresponding data in row 40 for x values
