Pivot Charts behave different in Date formatting

So in attached sample book I have 2 graphs which both have their data sheet.
On both data sheets a pivot is based with a pivot chart.
Both sheets have a date field that cannot be formatted in field settings (due to blanks I guess).

However when I format the date field in chart 1 to 'Mar-12' it will show the same format in the graph.
But when I do the same in chart 8 then the pivot will show 'Mar-12' setting but the pivot chart will not!

Anybody know what is going on here?

    I'm not a graph expert.

There is a lot of information. Where do the forummembers needs to look (witch cells)?

Is one of the dates a text instead of a date?
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

Re: Pivot Charts behave different in Date formatting

Both month fields are formatted as Date, so there should be no text.

For ChartData1_2 it is field Month and for ChartData8 it is Initiation Month.
On Both sheets that is column B.

Now where you can see the problem is the x-axis of sheet Chart 1 vs. the x-axis of sheet Chart8.
In Chart 1 the pivot shows month like Mar-19 and the x-axis also shows Mar-19.

But in Chart 8 the pivot shows Initiation month Mar-19 and the x-axis shows 1-3-2019.

The 1-3-2019 should also become Mar-19.

in chart 8 below the data in the pivot table.

    Division Initiation month Country Damaged
    VASCULAR 1-3-2020 Germany 3

I was not able to refresh the pivot table to check if that will solve the problem.

    Sorry I do not understand.

You say below that pivot data but then mention the header of the data.

Could you tell me in which cell you see a problem?

If I (double)click in the value of the pivot table, it shows the corresponding data to that value.

I posted the data which is in the pivot table (and chart).

Yes I know, if you double click on a value in a pivot i will give you the lines for that data point.
However I fail to see what that has to do with my initial problem oeldere.

The data for Chart8 is the tab Chartdata8. When you double click on a value you indeed will get a selection of ChartData8, yes.

Could you decribe why, what you see, would influence the Date formatting of the charts x-axis in sheet Chart1 and sheet Chart8?

Re: Pivot Charts behave different in Date formatting

Ok after lots of trying i found out the problem.
I set the range of the pivot source to a fixes range A1:T53. Then i got the number format option back in the date field.
Set the date to 'Mar-12' which gave me in the graph the MMM-YY x-axis that I wanted.
Then set the range back to A:T, format of the dates remains. Only just unselect blanks and the graph looks fine

Pretty easy......if you know what to look for and do

"Could you decribe why, what you see, "

if the data is not correct in the pivot table, the data also will be false in the data.
My next suggestion would be to check the original data.

    Glad I could help.
