Progression %age per Milestone per Project....

I'm not sure if this can be done, however I'm looking for a way to chart (or show) multiple projects progression per milestone.

An example of the data that was sent to me:

    Capture.PNG

Optimally, having a progression in each cell would be fantastic. I've never seen that done or been able to find an article on that. Caveat is that I have no programming skills in vba (advanced excel ain't my real job!).

I've tried stacked bars which weren't really what I'm looking for, and I'm really trying to keep the data set simple/concise. My co-worker may just have to modify that.

If anyone has any suggestions, fantastic. Really that's all I'm looking for is suggestions. Also would like values for each project/milestone.

    Thanks

    Hi there,
You should be able to do this via Quick Analysis > Formatting...

PS: Ideally please upload a sample workbook (see yellow banner at top) rather than a screenshot.

    Hi ORoos,

I should have said I tried conditional formatting, however I seem to have to select an entire range, and then I can't keep each row a different color. We're big into enhanced visuals. I did attach a sample here. The top portion shows what we'd like it to look like visually (not functionally), and the bottom is what it's like if we have data is a 'normal' entry mode.

    Hi sunriver61,
Yes the method in the screenshot will have the same colour for all.
To get each row at a different colour, select each row separately and apply conditional formatting with the required colour.
I have applied it in the second table for C16:J21
Is this what you are after?

Re: Progression %age per Milestone per Project....

    Hey again,

Well, not really as the graph only will hit mid-cell - but thanks for trying on this. I want to get the bar to accurately hit the percentage. With this, the bar reads at 50% whether the data is 10% or 90%. You would think Microsoft would have addressed that!

I'm using a graph now.. more complicated for the percentages and especially the legend, which I had to manually construct. That was a pain.

Any suggestions on making this better, I'm very interested!

This may neither be better nor easier, however it is different.
Use Get & Transform to convert the matrix arranged data into a row over row table using the following advanced Power Query editor code:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
Produce a pivot table from the new table (tblMilestone)
    The number format for the Sum of Value field is: 0%;;;
A stacked bar pivot chart is produced from the pivot table
The legend is moved to the bottom of the chart and data labels are added

JeteMc - I have no skill or even knowledge in PQ editor... but that's crazy good stuff. Loved the filters in the graph as well. I'm not sure how well my 'Agilist' will like it, but that's up to her. I might be able to use this for some of the graphs I have to product on my stuff. Thanks!
