    Pivot Table and adjacent columns

Hi Forum, I have a simple power pivot table summarising clients and sales amounts. Adjacent to the pivot table, I have set up two columns - a vlookup returning the corresponding account manager for a client, and a status column (if formula to numerically classify sales amount, with conditional formatting icons applied).

I would like to effectively "merge" the pivot table and my columns as one sortable table. Should I be using getpivotdata to create a new table, or is there a better way to achieve this? Thank you.

Re: Pivot Table and adjacent columns

Hello skylarkmtl and Welcome to Excel Forum.
I don't believe that using getpivotdata is going to help in producing a sortable table.
Assuming that account managers are listed in a different table you may be able to utilize Power Pivot or Get & Transform to produce a new pivot table which is sortable.
I am unclear as to whether status is in a separate table or part of a formula, so it is hard to make any useful recommendations.
It may help if we could see a sample of the source data (instructions are given in the banner at the top of the page).

Re: Pivot Table and adjacent columns

Hi JeteMc, thanks for the feedback. I guess I oversimplified my description. There is a pivot table value showing sales amount for each client, and another column calculating the days since the last client visit. These are based on different sheets within the data model.

On an adjacent column to the pivot table, I made up my own conditions (whether sales is below or above a certain threshold vs. whether days since last visit is above or below a certain number). Depending on the permutation, I use a nested IF formula to return one of four numbers. I then used conditional formatting to colour code the status.

I'm not sure how to replicate this within the pivot table itself instead of an adjacent column. I can add a calculated column in a data model sheet, but the IF formula is based on values calculated from two separate sheets.

I guess the account manager lookup part is not as important since the vlookup should work correctly regardless of how the pivot table is sorted.

Thought that I might try again to encourage you to upload a sample .xlsx file. I feel that if we could see a small sample of your source data and get a sense of how you would set up your pivot table, then we may be better able to propose a solution.
