    Stacked Bar Chart

    Hi there,

I'm looking to create a Stack chart (or similar) that shows bars/stacks from the start to open date (+45 days) each each branch (each row).

On the bottom axis is the dates (start earliest visible date to latest visible date). There is the option to choose upto 50 branches (D1), so I'd like the table to include upto 50 rows and ignore blanks (B4:D53).

    Thank you

I do not understand your requirement. Could you show sample data together with sample image of your chart?

I have attached a file as an example and tried to make it as clear as possible. Have you seen the file?

    Cheers, Danny

    Re: Stacked Bar Chart

The picture in your file looks like a basic Gantt chart. Here's a basic tutorial for creating a Gantt chart as a stacked bar chart: https://www.excel-easy.com/examples/gantt-chart.html

    In your file:

    1) Select the chart. It looks like Excel has all kinds of wrong understanding of what the data series should be.
    2) Bring up the "select data" dialog and remove/delete all data series.
2a) Add a data series to the chart. In the next dialog, select C4:C8 as the values range.
2b) Add a second data series to the chart and select E4:E8 as the values range.
2c) Edit the Category axis and select B4:B8 for the category axis label range.
    3) Select the horizontal axis and format it to have a reasonable start time (I chose serial number 44682 corresponding to 1 May 2022). Also format to have a suitable date number format.
    4) Select the "start" data series and format it to be invisible (no border and no fill).
    5) I wasn't sure what you meant that the Excel reverses the 1 to 50 branches on the vertical axis. By default Excel has always displayed a bar chart with the first category at the bottom of the axis and the last category at the top of the axis. If by "reverse" you mean that you want the first category at the top of the axis and the last category at the bottom, then format the vertical axis and select the "categories in reverse order" checkbox/button/option.
    6) That should work for the example with 5 branches that you show in your sample file. To make it dynamic for 0 to 50 branches, use the strategies described here to make the chart series definitions more dynamic: https://chandoo.org/wp/dynamic-chart-data-series/
