make revisions in the Pivot Table rather than in the Data Source ?

Suppose i want to revise the data in the Pivot Table directly rather than in the Data source - will the Pivot Table carry/reconcile the changes over to the Data Source ? or does it work in one direction only where the changes must be made in the Data Source and not in the Pivot Table.
    1. Update the Data Source then refresh the Pivot table (Traditional method)
    2. Update the Pivot Table then refresh the Source Data. ( is this method possible ?)

or must i make my changes in the Data source first then Refresh the Pivot Table to reflect what i just changed in the Data Source .

an example data change is lets say i want to change a wrong date - do i have to change it in the Data Source or can i change it in the Pivot Table. in my case it is a lot easier to change it in the Pivot table rather than in the Data Source .

    Thanks much

You must change it in the source. Changes in the pivot table do not go back to the source.
