Bubble chart X axis showing weird values

Hi, I keep having the same problem over and over again with bubble charts, where the values on X axis don't match at all what I have in my original data.

For example, I have data set about world's 10 biggest countries (attached) with Area (km2) in column 1, Population in column 2 and GDP per capita in column 3.
Population is on the Y axis and is fine, but Area on the X axis is completely wrong (the minimum value starts at -2, and maximum is 14, where the real data ranges from 2381,74 km2 to 17098,25 km2. I see no way to change it to reflect the source data properly.

The same thing happens with project related data where I have effort in hours in column 1, impact in $ in column 2 and number of people in charge. The effort in hours is between 20-100 hours and the X axis starts at 0 and ends at 6.

Please help and suggest what I might be doing wrong because I have no idea.

    Thanks,
    Nina

Disclaimer -- I'm looking at your sample file in LO Calc, which doesn't always behave the same as Excel (in this case, LO Calc charts the data correctly without any modification).

I notice that you are including row 3 in the data series definitions, which contains text. Excel (as noted, unlike other spreadsheets) does not like to have text anywhere in the X values range. When Excel sees any text anywhere in the X values range, it will default to count numbers (1,2,3,...) for the X value, ignoring any actual numbers in the X values range. In your case, this should be as simple as telling Excel to start the data ranges at row 4 instead of row 3.

I removed the headers and it worked. THANK you. Such a small thing but made me so frustrated :D
