Charts lines with differences: sqaures, circles, triangles

    charts_question.jpg

    Hello Everyone,
I have 4 blue lines and 4 red lines.
How can I make one blue line and one red line with "squares", one blue and one red with triangles, third of blue and third of red leave with circles like now, and fourth of blue and fourth of red with another shape?
So we can see the differences between each line?

    Thanks,
    Koby

You need to select a series and then via the Format pane you can specify the shape/size/colour of the marker.

And So on: square is ...

(How to make the shapes square, triangle appear at the legend)?

If you have the legend displayed and the market applied to the series then the legend with automatically display the markers

Yes the legend displays the whole name.
How can I add in addition what represent blue or red. and what represents square, traingle, circle and so on.

    I'll give an example:
Let's assume that blue is project 11 and red is project 12.
and suppose square is category 1000 and triangle is category 1015, and circle is category 1016.

The legend gives information on each plot, in the example above:
For blue with squares: the legend shows Project 11, Category 1000
For blue with triangles: Project 11, Category 1015.
For red with triangles: Project 12, Category 1015.
For red with circles: Project 12, Category 1016. and so on for each plot.

How Can I add to this legend: blue - project 11, red - project 12.
line with squares: Category 1000, line with triangles - Category 1015 ...

    Thanks for all the help.

Assuming the series name, which is what appears in the legend, is linked to a cell update the cell to contain the required description.

If the series name is not linked to a cell then use the Select Data dialog to enter series text.

The legend shows the description of each plot individually.
I am looking, in addition to that, to add each a description for a subgroup of plots.
e.g 4 plots with color blue, add the description of what the color blue means.
4 plots with color red, add the description of what the color red means.

I think what Andy is saying is that whatever text you enter/link into the series name field will show up in the legend, so add the desired text to the series names.

Unless your question is about adding text to the legend without adding to the series name? That's going to be a bit more difficult, perhaps even impossible using the built in legend feature.

You can add a textbox, and shapes, to the chart to provide a user create 'legend'.

There is not a secondary 'legend' built into the chart object
