Trying to format a table of numbers onto a bar chart.

Hi,

I'm trying to solve a project, where I have a number of people in a column who answered different numbers, and then I want the number of people who answerd the a number to be shown on a bar chart.* So I want the number of people who answerd a number on the y-axis, and the number answerd on the x-axis.


Right now I have column A with the person and column B with their answers. And then a chart just gives each person on the x-axis their number along the y-axis.


And I cant seem to find any answer to how to solve this, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Charts don't analyze data -- including something as simple as counting. Before you can make a chart that shows how many people responded with each number, you need to count the number of people with each response somewhere in the spreadsheet.

With the arrangement you describe, the easiest is probably going to be a pivot table: https://www.excel-easy.com/data-****...ot-tables.html I would expect something that uses "answer number" for the row labels and "count of answer number" in the pivot table. Then you can create a (pivot) bar/column chart from the resulting pivot table.
