A graph to show number of people from different countries

Hi All,

Just wondering, i have had a staff member ask me if she can create a graph from a large table that will display the countries of origin. I have the table and it has Australia, England, India etc etc in one column and she wants a graph that will add all the same countries together and graph of that value for that country. EG if australia appeared 4 times in this sheet she wants the graph to show that Australia has appear 4 times?

All we want is just a Bar Graph, and i'm stumped! i havent' created charts in Excel for years and i'm sure it's just something simple i'm forgetting. Any help would be great.

The chart will not summarize your data, you have to do that yourself.

You can either use a pivot table/chart or formula.

The formula to use would be COUNTIF. But first you would need to extract a unique list of country names. For that you can use Advanced Filter to create the list for you.
