Stacked Bar Chart using Dates as my data

I am trying to create a timeline of sorts to show the correlation of a group of patients and when they had an infection while at the hospital based on admit and discharge date. How do I show this using the data that are dates (see my attached file)? When I create it, the chart does not read my dates like I want them to. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hello kdestef,

if you want to work with a stacked bar chart, you will need to calculate the differences in days between the dates, add columns for a data marker, stack them all up and format the series so only the data markers show.

It may be easier to create a XY chart instead and use the Chart Labeler Add-in to create the axis labels with a dummy series.

    Both variations attached.
