Auto-updating Trend Charts w/ Data from New Workbooks

Hello all, I can't believe I haven't registered here until now. I've been a lurker for quite some time. Cliff notes at the bottom.

Here is the problem I'm trying to solve. At my job, I am trying to integrate a more efficient data collection system. This data is manually entered into the first sheet of a workbook based on the conditions workers observe with a part. There are two successive sheets which are automatically generated from the first sheet. One has graphs and one has an overall summary. These workbooks are unique for each part evaluated and there are at least a couple of them created every day. My problem lies in the fact that this data must be tracked over time in the form of a trend chart. With the old system, the workers are manually copying and pasting new data into the workbook with the trend chart.

    So, in short:

How can I create a trend chart in its own file which automatically updates with data from new workbooks?

    Thanks guys
