Trying to create a budget - is there a more efficient way? (please see attachments)

Hi, I've been a reading this forum for a long time but finally decided to make the jump to posting.

I'm a graduate who has recently emigrated to Germany and need to manage my finances properly. Germans deal with money differently to us in the UK/USA. Credit card uptake is low, and VISA cards here aren't what they are like back home. They are more like charge cards.

Anyway... I am trying to create a budget (attached). I can programme in various times where money will come in (e.g. wages) and money will go out (rent etc). The draw back to what I have done is that I can't really analyse my spending so well as, for each day, I have to combine all purchases. I would like a system where I can double click on 30. Aug 12 for example and find a break down for the 546,95 figure. How can I achieve something like this?

Or am I doing a budget completely wrong? Surely somebody has done something like this before and I can just use a template?

Maybe this guy's solution will help you.

I haven't used it but it may be what you need and you can repay him by providing feedback.
