time and date on line chart

I needed little help on getting a chart which plots - time and date.
    Time Date
    ---------------------
    10:58:00 01/06/2013
    11:14:00 02/06/2013
    08:45:00 03/06/2013
    11:32:00 04/06/2013
    11:13:00 05/06/2013

I want x axis to show dates and y axis to show time. Dates on weekly interval and time on three hours interval. I got the time correct on Y axis. On X axis dates show up from 1/1/1900 to 18/3/1900. If I try it with small simple data I get it perfect marked line chart but here i have almost 100 rows.

Will you please help ? Could that be an issue with format type in date column ?

Andy Pope...Thanks a ton. Thats correctly how i wanted. Thanks a ton.
A little doubt though. I was unable to get 'Maximum','minimum','major unit' showing up on X axies after right clicking on 'Format axies'. Why was that happening with me ?

Re: time and date on line chart

To label last point on X axis you would need to set the Maximum to 14/09/2013

Andy, I am still there. I have attached the screenshot for you to have an idea about my doubt.
I can not see the maximum, minimum or major radio buttons on pop up window which you get after right clicking, 'Format axis'.
I hope I am being clear enough to convey my doubt.

Set the axis to be Date rather than automatic. For some reason excel is not automatically seeing you dates as dates.

Re: time and date on line chart

Your data series only has Y values. There for the x values (category labels) are automatically generated as a simple numeric progression.

You need to use the Select data dialog to set a range reference for the Category Labels.

Re: time and date on line chart

I right clicked on X axis, then Select data, then selected (marked) the column with date i.e., column with dates. Its simple I did that for axis Y already. but doesnt work with axis X.

Re: time and date on line chart

Attached has full range set for both values and category labels.

I've included screen shots of the Select Data dialogs.

Axis now displays dates and has Min/Max/Major settings available.
