2 line graphs over same time period but with different date points

    Hi there!

Would be great if I can get some help here. I have 2 sets of information: The one is a product price associated with the fist of every month 2012/05/01, 2012/06/01, 2012/06/01 etc and the other is a product price on random dates, but over the same total period 2012/05/01, 2012/05/08,2012/05/22 etc. I want to be able to graph both prices on the same line graph. The period is the same so only one axis is required, the data just needs to be linked somehow.

Thank you so much in advance.

Are the x-values/dates actual numbers/date serials or are they text strings? If they are text strings, you may want to convert them to date serials or some other numeric value.

Are you wanting to plot each series as its own line? If so, this should be pretty easy if you use a scatter chart instead of a line chart. Select one of the series, create the scatter chart, format as desired, then add the 2nd data series, either by copy/paste or through the select data dialog, then format the 2nd series as desired.

If you want the data merged into a single line in the chart, you will first want to merge the two data sets into a single table in the spreadsheet, then it should be easy to create a scatter chart from that table.
