Pivot Table Year to Date for Current and Previous Years

I have a database of all sales transactions. I am trying to summarize data by customer to show a year to date revenue for the current year and the previous year.

    I am using Excel 2007.

    Database columns:
Transaction Date, Customer Name, Style, Quantity, Cost, Revenue

    Pivot Columns:
Style, Previous YTD Revenue, Current YTD Revenue

I am having a difficult time figuring this out. I have found how to do YTD for each quarter of the current year but I can't seem to find out how to apply the YTD criteria to the previous sales year.

For example if today is October 1, 2013 for I need to see for Style XYZ a column for total revenue from 1/1/12 to 10/1/12 and another column for revenue from 1/1/13 to 10/1/13.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Pivot Table Year to Date for Current and Previous Years

Please refer to the attached workbook, where I have created a contrived example with fabricated dates, names, styles and dollar amounts. Open the attached workbook and note the following:

[1] Data tab: I have created a seventh and new field called YTD. This takes the transaction date and converts it to the year. You can see the formula in Cell G2. I am assuming that if you are looking for year to date cost and sales figures, you will download data for no further then the time period that you need. Thus, for example, if you need to compare April 2012 YTD to April 2013 YTD, you would download data from 01/01/2012 to 04/30/2012 and 01/01/2013 to 04/30/2013.

[2] Pivot tab: The pivot table shows the year to date totals for each year. Sometimes, people want to see the difference. If so, you can use a calculated field and show the difference.

Without seeing an actual or a mock up of your workbook, this is the best that I can come up with.
