    Scatterplot data points

I have a scatterplot created and recently changed the data. Since the most recent edits, my data points are now at the zero value of the y axis. However, when you scroll over them they are displaying the correct value. Any suggestions on possible formatting problems?

Thanks in advance for the help

    Re: Scatterplot data points

Is there any chance that those edits have caused those numbers to become "numbers stored as text"? Text values (even numbers stored as text) are often plotted as 0, no matter how much they look like a real number to you and me.

You can test for this using something like the =ISTEXT() or ISNUMBER() functions. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...632.aspx?CTT=1

Thanks for your response. The ISNUMBER function returned true for my data points, however for my blank cells I used =#N/A which is stored as text. Is that the problem??

Hard to tell without a sample. Can you upload a sample spreadsheet?

    Re: Scatterplot data points

To quote little Alice, "Curiouser and curiouser."

I'm afraid I don't have any idea what it is doing. If I format the y axis to auto detect limits, it is obvious that, while the cell value is 31% (0.31), it is plotting 1/100th of the cell value (0.31% or 0.0031). If I select the data and have it plot a new chart, it appears to plot the percentages correctly. For some unknown reason, your original plot suddenly decided to divide everything by 100 before plotting.

    Re: Scatterplot data points

welcome to the forum, allisonnp. go to Chart1. double click on the y-axis. your Max should be 1 & not 100. the numbers there are not percentages. like how 0.5 is 50%, 1 is 100%. Display Units should be None & not in Hundreds. that should do it
