Plotting Multiple and Large Data sets on a clustered column chart

    Hi all,

I'm looking to plot data from multiple columns on a clustered column chart. It's a large data set so when I'm plotting the data, it's coming up messy.

I just wanted to know if there was a way to make it look a little bit cleaner.

    Excel file attached.

    Many thanks

First thing you can do is remove the Score series as this information is displayed in the horizontal axis.

Next you need to move the % values to the secondary axis in order to use a different numeric scale.

You might consider actually splitting the 2 data sets in to different chart types. The example is a mixture of column/line

Thanks Andy and happy new year to you.

I have to do similar charts for some of the other data sets, so will take your approach to split the data sets.

I'm having slight issues with plotting this one. One of the data set is not coming up on the chart even though the series is there. Can you please have a look?

    Thanks

The Female series is plotted on the secondary axis as a line. Due to the maximum secondary scale being so low the line is not visible.

Move the Female series to the primary axis

However, when I do that, the primary axis looks a bit messy. Any other tips/tricks I can use for the axis to show up a bit cleaner?

don't label every single data point.
