newbie: simple column frequency count excel2010

I am new to Excel (2010) I am doing fine with various histograms and statistical add-ins, but have a problem about the very simplest chart. Spreadsheet contains columns with names and count of cars per name. I simply want to make a bar graph showing the frequency or count of each value, but with real, whole numbers in the chart and its legend (legend for number of cars per person in x axis, y axis for number of people with this number of cars). I keep getting either decent bar graphs but with legend along X axis in decimal numbers which do not exactly line up with the graph bars, or with bars for counts such as 2.83 cars. I just want it to show, for example, a bar for 1 car, label x axis of 1, y axis showing count 34; bar for 2 cars, y axis count of 21, etc. Can you refer me to a simple instruction?

show us what you have done so far (add the attachment - see forum rules how to do it).

Not seeing attachment - you shall prepare a column with 1,2,3,... in next column use an array formula FREQUENCY and use this as input for barchart. (You could also use histogram tool from Analysis Toolpack)

SOLVED - The problem was due to the separate add-on, StatTools 6.0, which disallowed the normal Excel function to insert a bar-graph. The bar-graphs were easily inserted once Excel was opened on a computer that did not have the StatTool 6.0 program added-on.
