I come to you with an issue...

I have an excel chart linked to a word document. However there are several copies of the spreadsheet. It appears that each quarter when this report is created a new copy of the spreadsheet is created (which is then renamed for the current quarter and placed in a new file location). However the data still links back to the original document (several years back).

What I wanted to do going forward is stop making the copies and instead use an updated master sheet from which these reports linked to (then just use a shortcut link for newly created folders).

Does this make sense? I'm sure there is a blatantly obvious solution here but it's closing time around here and I'm using the excuse that my brain is mush...cheers!
