Copying the result of a drop down box to another cell

Can someone please tell me if you can copy the result of a drop down box to another cell in another tab. Want to use front tab as master sheet and drop
selected info down to other tabs - Thanks

I used Form Controls to create drop down box - answers in simple form would be great - I am an excel dummy. Thanks

Do you mean copy and paste? Or do you mean you want to reference the drop down box result in a formula in another sheet?

Re: Copying the result of a drop down box to another cell

I have four options in a drop box and I want the result of the selection only to show in another cell
I tried the copy and paste thing but it either copies the drop down box so they have to make another selection (which I dont want) or it comes up with a figure (and I assume it is the number of options I have in my drop down box because I have 4 including the blank and the figure 4 is then put in the cell)??

The answer I want copied to another tab is text

Sorry is does this answer your question?

When you created the combo box you would have linked it to a cell. Either copy that cell and paste special, values into the other sheet, or go to the cell in the other sheet that you want to match the combo box selection, type = and then click on the linked cell.

If you cant remember the linked cell right click on the combo box and click on Format Control.

Ignore the above - that will only give you the number again. I will post the correct method soon.

Can you upload the sheet so we can use the correct references and see how the combo box is set up?

Re: Copying the result of a drop down box to another cell

How I would do it is to right click on each combo box and link them to a cell that is hidden by the combo box, so for CREDIT TERMS / FREIGHT for example link the combo box to cell C7 on the Account Info & Contacts tab. I would then put an INDEX formula in the Customer Services tab. Continuing the same example in 'Customer Services'!C7 I would put
    Formula: copy to clipboard
