Tasks to complete between a start and end date help with percentage and formulas

    Good day,
I am running through some issues and or some headaches.

My work is based on doing tasks between 2 dates. I have a start and end date and these tasks must be completed within these ranges of dates.

I am not too good with formulas. I am looking to fix the workbook I have uploaded.

I need to know, in between the start and end date, what would be the percentage of my completed tasks and one would be if I am Late or ahead of schedule.

I have kind of started my formula but it makes no sense.

Another thing would be to know how many tasks I need to do in between the start and end date.

Example If I have 10 tasks to complete in 20 days then I need to accomplish .5 per day but if I have not started anything and have 5 days remaining, then I would need to complete 2 tasks a day in order to meet my deadline date.

I got no clue how to accomplish this.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I didn't see any formula problems.

    Like,
    =SUM(C2-H2)
    is exactly the same as
    =C2-H2
    so there's that.

And cells L and M should really be formatted with 2-3 decimal places because the display rounding is deceiving.

I don't really understand what L and M are doing for you, but I'm not seeing any big errors jumping out.

    So I guess,
I don't really understand what you need??

My End Results is not functioning well... in the example workbook it's letting me know that I'm late but in reality I am ahead of schedule.

    ..
    ..
    ..

L = how many tasks per day between the start and en date I should be doing.
M = how many Tasks completed from the Start to end date.

In my Column N should be the results if I am late or not.

But in your example spreadsheet you are late. You should have done 20% of the tasks as you are 20% of the way through the time period, but you've done 0 tasks. Put a 2 in column H and it shows "On Time" and if you put a 3 in there it will show "Ahead of Schedule"

I guess I am triggering the wrong column?

In my example yes I am late but it shouldn't be Late cause I have 20 days to complete 10 tasks. therefor making me ahead of schedule. If 10 days would be remaining then I would have 1 tasks to do each day. making me still ahead of schedule, but If I was 9 days left with 10 tasks remaining from the 10, then I would be late.

From what you are saying, your rate of throughput, regardless of the number of jobs you have, or what those jobs are, is 1 task per day per job. In your sheet your task/day is a formula though. I personally think you're wanting something that's not going to give you the best idea of how you are tracking, but to get what you want the formula in O2 should be
    Formula: copy to clipboard
