looking for easy way to add numerous dynamic named ranges

Righto, I have 153 rows of data to name, with a different offset formula per row.

I am looking for a cheat on how to do this quickly, please!

    Thanks, Ruth

Re: lots of names to manage

Are you talking about dynamic named ranges? Use Excel Table feature.
You are not really supplying a lot of information here. A workbook would help a lot.

Re: lots of names to manage

Hi Jacc, yep dynamic named ranges.

I've attached a sample, and called row 2 'test' in the name manager. there are 152 more rows like row 2 that need to be named.

    Thanks!

Re: lots of names to manage

Tell us what you are trying to do by way of creating named range?

Are you going to use it in your formula?

If so, please show where you are going to use that and what is the expected result.

So that we can provide you an alternate solution to avoid naming each ranges

A good and easy way to provide info is to link to your last thread. http://www.excelforum.com/excel-form...parklines.html

Re: looking for easy way to add numerous dynamic named ranges

Sixthsense, I got some advice earlier relating to this here: http://www.excelforum.com/excel-form...parklines.html

Naming the ranges with the offset formula works well, there are just too many to name one by one. I want the sparklines to grow incrementally as data is updated per month.

    Thanks, Ruth

Re: looking for easy way to add numerous dynamic named ranges

I guess the point with sparklines is to present them on the same row next to the data. However, if that is not a requirement I would use the Excel Table feature. Instant, robust named ranges, as fast as you can type. It

If you want to stick with what you have and create more than 100 dynamic named ranges, then a macro can be written that will do that for you. Not me though, it would take me as long to write that macro as it would take you to do it manually.
