I am not sure if this is an excel question or not, but I thought I would give it a try.
I have 4 different employee groupings that I do weekly rankings for, and it has 4-5 weeks with a summary table to give the monthly winner. They are ranked using ascending order, and currently have 16 different categories. the overall weekly winner has he highest point total, and monthly the same. 3 of the 4 groupings will be tracked by the exact same categories, but successful performance is gauged diffidently for each one. $100 in sales for one group would be good, while another would be bad. The other grouping will not have the exact same categories.
What I am wanting to do is find an overall winner for all employees. I cant use overall points as each grouping has different # of employees,a low of 3 and a high of 10. I also don't want to use % of overall points for that same reason. The group of 3 would have a drastic advantage because they only have to beat out 2 people rather than 9 for the other. Is there a formula to come up with a ranking that takes into account not only the % of points they received in their group, but some how compare that to how others preformed in their respective group? I am not sure it will matter, but each group currently has 16 categories, but that will probably not be the case much longer.
Thank you in advance.
