    Data Table - complex formula

I currently have a spreadsheet where I input two variables, lets call them A and B, into 2 cells. It goes through a very complex calculation, and provides a figure C in a 3rd cell.

I would like to build a data table with different values for A and B and display the result of C.

I can input one by one and write down the result. But can I do this with what-if analysis.?

The real questions is, can I build data table without re-writing the equation to get the result?

Can't you just put the possible A-B values in columns A and B, and drag the formula down in column C?

Yes I can. That would be a manual process where by I need to ensure all the combinations are there.
    a1 b1
    a1 b2
    a1 b3
    a2 b1
    a2 b2

    What if I have 100 a values, and 100 b values?

Data tables require rows and columns, not just columns. If you have 100 of each you will end up with a 100x100 grid.

Re: Data Table - complex formula

Put your starting a value (a1) in cell A1. Put your starting b value (b1) in A2. Put your complicated formula in cell B1, referencing cells A1 and A2 in the formula. Put your a values (including a1) in column B from row 2. Put your b values (including b1) in row 1 from column C. Select from B1 down to the end of the a values you have entered and across to the end of the b values you have entered. Click on the data ribbon then on What-If-Analysis (Data Tools Group) then on Data Table... In the Row Input Cell box put A1. In the Column Input Cell put A2. Click OK.

    Adjust the references if necessary.
