Lookup data and concatenate in table

I have 5 categories of review and each category has 10 questions. Each question has a score of 1-5. This forms the basis of a survey.

I would like to map the survey answers into a table. The reason is it helps us classify the supplier relationship we have. The answers also determine actions and gaps to address.

I've tried some index/match lookup functions but cannot seem to concatenate functions whereby, if two text answers need to belong in the same cell, how to show this? I have described a little further on the spreadsheet and would really appreciate some creative thinking.

No sure what you want to bring back to the table? For example, for Category 1, there are 3 with Answer 1 (lines 3, 5, 9). What would you want to see in your table Cell D7?

Re: Lookup data and concatenate in table

What you need to do, is put a couple of columns next to your data, then if(and(a1="Category 1",f1=5),"Answer 5 cell","")

then concatenate this column for all answer 5s, then the same for 4 and then each category

I think thats the most straight forward, so you'll have categories x questions extra columns
    Hope this helps

I've commented more on the attached worksheet. I think this requires Match and Index functions to find the data and wrap them in concatenate to fit them into the table properly. I however am inept with these functions! Hopefully the comments in attached will be clearer?

Hi, did you get chance to read the last post update and inspect the updated attachment? I still haven't managed to solve this and would really appreciate some guidance, either on solution or formula approach. I've tried IF/AND functions and it gets pretty messy. I think I need some sort of match lookup function and have a particular weakness for them!
