VLookup not working in certain column but works in others

I will attach a copy of the work book. Not sure why it's feeding me this number. Especially since I have an IFERROR function in it.

Anyone have any ideas, I would be glad to add reputation for your help. I would love to see the mistake I'm making.

It is giving me back the correct address and phone number, but the other column is coming back 0. It should be city state zip.

    Hi afrabat,

You formula seems to be written correctly however, there there is no way to tell why it is not giving you results you expect since the formula is linked to another workbook that is not available "'C:\Users\PHC & H2O\Downloads\[DeVries Irrigation Workorder.xlsx]Products'!$A:$B"

I didn't think I would need to include that book since the formulas and data validation in the table with quantity, type, description, cost and extended all work. Its just the city state zip from the top of the invoice that isn't working and it is linked to the table that is in customer list.

Sorry, I don't see how the two are connected since the table with product information is all working fine.

If I need to include that workbook I can though, I suppose.

Your workbook is essentially empty. All it has is VLOOKUP formula linked to another workbook. Your validation list doesn't show any values and even if it did it is still impassible to tell what formula is looking at. Your product information is all working fine for you only but not here.

Re: VLookup not working in certain column but works in others

If you are talking about the formula in A12, the problem here is you are using the wrong column index in the formula. Because city, state and zip information is in col. H (which has column index 8 in the lookup table) and you are using column index 4 which is column D and that is merged with other columns and does not have the desired information.
    So try this ......

Yes sktneer, that solved my problem. I see what you are saying. I tried column 7, but that didn't work. Can you explain why 7 didn't work, but 8 did?

I should've explained better AlKey, sorry for that. It was the formula in A12 which wasn't working.

Re: VLookup not working in certain column but works in others

In Vlookup, the lookup value is always in the first column of the lookup table. So if you count, the desired information is in col. 8 therefore the col. index in the formula should be 8.
