Excel scoring capabilities

Does anyone know if you can set up a lap-scoring and timing program using Excel?
I was told that there was.
We want to score laps, calculate accumulative and overall times, by classes and individual overalls and then create results with pertinent information regarding each participant.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Short answer is yes, of course. You'll need to specify how you would want to use such a timer. Best way would be to mock up an example workbook showing what information you want to hold and show the layout of sets of typical results.
