    Conditional formatting not working as expected

    Hello,

    In the attached, I want cells to be highlighted red if they're NOT EQUAL to 0. Could someone please take a look and tell me why is this conditional formatting not working (i.e. the cell is being highlighted)?

    Hi SEMMatt,

    Your code looks like it works ok to me.
    Both columns are equal, so conditional formatting isn't coloring the cells. When I changed the values in Column B, Column C turned red.

    Lewis thanks for testing. I just realized that the values aren't exactly equal. They're off by a hair which is causing the error.

    Any idea how I could write a formula to say color red if cell is greater than 1 or less than -1 ? thanks,

    In Column C (the difference column) try the following CONDITIONAL FORMATTING formula (not cell value):
