    CONCATENATE non-blank cells

    Hello,

I have 6 columns that can be filled for each row but no row will have a value in ALL 6 columns, but each row will probably have a different number of values from another row. I want to CONCATENATE any value that has a value and leave out any blank cells.

    Possible?

    Thanks!
    Scott

not sure if I understood everything right but is it possible you could try the "merge cells" option?

Specific examples please. I don't understand what you mean by 'from another row'. Do you mean each row will TAKE values from another row or something else.
If however trivially you want to concatenate 6 columns and ignore blanks just go ahead an concatenate all 6.

    i.e.

    =A1&B1&C1&D1&E1&F1

by definition of the cell is blank it won't be included in he string.

    Re: CONCATENATE non-blank cells

    Richard,

Sorry I keep forgetting some key points. The cells will just be numbers and if I want to visually show that I multiplied all of them, then I want an "x" in the middle of them so =CONCATENATE(A1, "x" , B1), but I won't be multiplying the blanks so I don't want something that will turn out like 1 x 2 x 3 x x 5 x.... assuming 4 and 6 are just blank cells.

Book1.xlsx Here's a quick example. I don't want the product formula, I want the actual x's to appear in between the non-blank cells.

I broke it out, but you could obviously consolidate into one equation. Just wanted to demonstrate the steps.

Shoot, found a new issue. Hang tight, I'll be a little more transparent with my next spreadsheet.
