    Hi everybody,

I have single events in Sheet 1 and I Need them grouped together by month in Sheet 2. How can I select all events from January for B1 in Sheet 2?

Thank you very much in advance!

Would you like to see it in calendar form, so the events appear on the actual day they relate to? (you can select the month and year of interest from drop-downs)

I can give you links to several threads of mine that do this.

    Hi Pete,

Thanks for your reply! I am very much interested in your threads, because I have a lot of data in my sheets and would like to be able to dynamically change the reporting period of my dashboards and reports.

But regarding my post above: I don't need a dropdown there, just a function that groups single events together by week and month in certain fields (I use a secondary x-axis so that events are displayed above a chart to explain deviations).

    Thanks again for your help!

In column B of sheet2, how many entries are you likely to have? Excel isn't very good for concatenating multiple strings together conditionally, and a formula to do it would be very messy.

Also, it will help if you provided a sample Excel workbook which has a mock-up of your data and the requirements - The FAQ gives details of how to attach a file to one of your posts.

    Hi Pete,

Column B would probably in the end contain a three digit number of events.

I attached a file to this post, hope it helps! If you have an idea how I could organize my raw data (daily events) so that I am able to include monthly and weekly events as labels of a secondary x-axis, please let me know.

    Have a nice weekend!
