    Need help with If Funtion

I'm creating an spread sheet for my small business. I need a formula where if the results of one colum is Yes then the value of the next will either stay the same if not then it'll be 0. So if in K = Y then the value of L will stay the same if K is N then L will be 0. Please help I'm going nuts here...

    Thanks

I think (don't have Excel to check it out, so might throw a Circular Reference error)

    Try this...

    =IF(K7="Y",F7-G7-I7,0)

It will show 0 as the default value.

Stay the same as what? Perhaps windy's suggestion is what you want?

Use =INT to custom format 0 and 1 output, then you can custom format the output with "Text";"";"Text".
I am not sure exactly what you are asking for, because if you want the value of L to stay the same in relation to the value of K just subtract K from L.

What you are trying to do is not possible because of one simple fact, you cannot have a static value and formula in a cell at the same time.
A macro may work, however try to redefine the problem first.

Re: Need help with If Funtion

I keep trying to figure it out but nothing. I know I've done it before but I can't remember now. All I want is if the value of K = Y then L should equal F7-G7-I7. But if the value of K = N then L should equal G7+I7. l I need this for is because I've had orders that I finish them the costumer cancels but I already made it and spend money on materials. So if I type N on column K means I didn't get paid for it so no earnings were made and I probably lost money.

Re: Need help with If Funtion

Just read the formula, I have left a Y in a cell 2 columns across in white so you can't see it. Should be pretty simple to copy and paste into the other columns.

Add some reputation if your happy with it

    Cheers.
