Need assistance sorting a huge excel sheet (700K) rows!!!

    Hi,
Well I have this file that I've been trying to sort unsuccessfully for some time, let me try to explain:

1- The file has around 700,000 rows with multiple columns (Column A is the serial # column)
2- I'm trying extract the serial numbers that fall within a specific range (e.g. between range of 355,000 to 360,000)
3- I'm not very good at Pivot Tables (pretty good with formulas) but I got a couple of friends who are but there was something wrong and the sort always returned an error.

Would really like to hear from you guys, y'all saved my butt twice before

    Hello,

you don't need a pivot table for that. You can turn on auto-filter (Data Ribbon > Autofilter button) or convert the table into Excel Table.

To do that, select any cell and click Insert > Table. If the table has headers, tick the box.

Now you can select any column header and use the filter and sort options in the context menu. Use Date Filters > Between and specify the desired date range.

You can copy the filtered results and paste them into another sheet for further processing.

    cheers, teylyn
