Count Custom Number Formatted Cells

Hello everyone and Happy New Year to all!!

I have one question. I have in cell B9 to B28 of Sheet1 entered the number "1". Then I custom number formatted the cells with the code "W-"0 so now they appear as W-1.

In Cell A23 of Sheet2 I write W-1 and I want the result in Cell B23 of Sheet2. In the this case must be 20. My question is how to count these range if they are Custom Number Formatted.

Can anyone help me?? I really prefer excel formula and no VBA code, or another Custom Number Format Code that can help me to perform the counting.

=SUMPRODUCT(--(TEXT(Sheet1!$B$9:$B$28,"W-#")=A23))
