Index, Find, Row Formula to arrive at the results

I have set of data (Shown Below). Column A(Date), Column B(Company), Column C(Employee), Column D(Dept), Column E(Results). I need to write a formula to arrive the Results (Column E). In my organization employees attend meeting with outside companies. Both the sales dept and research dept employees attend. If 2 research department people attend to a particular company meeting I need the results has 2 in coulum E. If 3 research people attend I need the results has 3. Please help me to write a formula to arrive the results.

=COUNTIFS($A$2:$A$12,A2,$B$2:$B$12,B2,$E$2:$E$12,"Research")

Try these two

=COUNTIFS($B$2:$B$12,B2,$D$2:$D$12,D2)

or

=SUMPRODUCT(($B$2:$B$12=B2)*($D$2:$D$12=D2))

If you still have a problem, upload a small (clean) sample workbook (not a pic) of what you are working with, and what your expected outcome would look like.

Apart from B2, most other cells in column B have a trailing space - remove that and it should work
