Help with finding source of formula data

Hi, I'm trying to figure out the source of of the inputs for a formula but I am unfamiliar with the way they are written. Can someone help me to understand this better?

    The formula is:

    ='X-Y'!O96

I know the ' indicates text and usually the ! indicates another sheet in the workbook (I think). There is no X-Y sheet in the workbook and cell O96 is blank in the other two sheets in the workbook.

    Thanks for any help.

    Don

    The sheet must be hidden

Try Alt+O+H+U.. you might see it

or simply right click on one of the sheet tabs and click 'unhide'

X-Y is the worksheet. If there is not an error, because the worksheet does not exist, the worksheet must exist and is probably hidden.

The single quotes are only really necessary when the worksheet name has spaces in it. The exclamation mark (!) separates the sheet name from the range. O96 is the cell/range address.

Thanks Ace_XL and TMS. They did have hidden sheets. I have never encountered hidden sheets before.
