compare 2 columns provide result in 3rd column

This is my second try posting this. Hoping I post this correctly this time. I'm tryin to compare two columns. if there is a number in the debit, the result (in the 3rd column) should be a negative. if its in the credit column, it should be positive.

so in this example ( attached) the 3 numbers in the 3rd column should be -97.02, 184.55, -625

If A2=Debit and B2=Credit, try this in C2
