How do I format to highlight same names but different identification numbers?

I would like to be able to format my spreadsheet to check for duplicate first and last names (which are in separate columns) and then highlight only if the identification number for those people is different. For example:

Column A Column B Column C
Smith John 1234
Smith John 5678

Thanks again for any help!

Try this

Select cells in A:C range then on the Home tab go to Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells rules, and Duplicate values

Thank you for responding, but if I want to highlight for different values (the identification number) among duplicate values (people with the same name), then will this work?

Without seeing samples of your data (workbook), probably "use formula" in the CF options, and then something like...
=COUNTIFS($A$1:$A$12,$A1,$B$1:$B$12,$B1,$C$1:$C$12,$C1)=1
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
