    Vlookup with index/match possibly.

    Good Morning,

I recently posted a question and was provided ane xcellent solution here (http://www.excelforum.com/excel-form...ml#post3809344), I would like a little help adjusting this so that there is a lookup beforehand as i'm adjusting this for a new problem. There will be a list of names on one sheet that won't correspond to the same order on the next sheet where the start/finish times are.

So I need to look up the agent listen on sheet1 on sheet2 then find the start time of the shift?

    Thank you.

    Here you go.

I need to look up the agent name from sheet2 in the Rota sheet. From here I then need to return the first 5 characters of the text in row 1 that corresponds with the first cell in the agents row that has an entry. (reading left to right)
