    Lookup in looked-up rage

    Hello all,

I dont know if it's possible to do at once.
But I have a sheet (sheet1) with some information and another sheet (sheet2) where I want to pull information.

Now in sheet 1 I have 2 columns. 1 with a date and another with a name.

In sheet 2 I want to have (in cell A1) the number of times the names is listed within a certain date.

    Example:
    Sheet 1:
    Column A contains: 1-1-2014, 1-2-2014, 2-2-2014, 4-2-2014, 3-3-2014...
Column B contains: Piet, Jan, Jan, Piet, Jan

    Sheet 2:
Cell A1: (A formula to find the number of times Jan is listed in febuari 2014)

I have some ideas on how to do it, but I think it will be a bit messy and not even sure if I can work it out -.-.

    Thanks in advance

SUMPRODUCT is 1 way to go.

If you can not handle this, then pls upload a small sample workbook to show how this works.
