    Hi.

What message did Excel give you? Was it not perhaps rather related to the name that you chose than to the actual formula, which appears perfectly fine to me.

    Re: Counta function

Can you elaborate on "rejected" ?
What exactly happens when you click OK after entering the formula in the "Refers To:" Box?

    Re: Counta function

it pops up with a message BOX saying "WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS FORMULA" and then elaborates ..."WHEN USING '=' EXCEL THINKS ITS A FORMULA, TRY USING AN APOSTROPHE BEFORE "

    Re: Counta function

Well, there's nothing wrong with the formula you posted.

I can only suggest to make sure the 'Refers To:' box is completely empty first before entering that formula.
Make sure you enter the formula EXACTLY as you posted it.
Any syntax errors in the formulua (like extra/missing parens or commas) would result in an error like the one you're getting.
Perhaps your regional settings have ; as the list seperator instead of a comma.

    Try
    =offset(Customers!$C$6;;;Counta(Customers!$C$6:$C$103);6)
