Ranking and finding the lone skin for my golf tournament spreedsheet

Im hoping I attached the file correctly so you all can see what Im dealing with. Im not sure if what I want is possible.

First off on holes 1-9 and 10-18 I currently have it highlighting the cell with the unique value. I could deal with whats going on but if there is only one 2 and one 3 in the cloumn it will highlight them both. What I want is the lowest unique value.

My other problem Im running into is I want the column titled "FINAL" to sort or rank itself to automaticlly put the team into the given flights lowest score to highest.

    Please help.

    =RANK(W6,W$6:W$42,1)

Put in Y6 and copy/paste down.

Hopefully someone else can address conditional formatting.

Okay so I figuered out what the rank command you gave me did. Rank is not the term I should have used. In the FINAL column i want it to show me the scores that are transfered from the total column to be sorted from lowest to highest.

I have a perfect use for that function on a seperate project thanks very much soberguy.

KILLER! That is what I want. Is there a way to exclude the 0's? that way if I dont fill up the entire sheet the 0's will stay at the bottom? And only the entered scores will rise to the top.

Oops. What I gave you sorts highest to lowest. Forgot that part. You can do the same with small.

As for excluding zeroes, yes. I'll post that in a bit when I'm not on my mobile device.

You're the man thanks Soberguy! If wanted to use that rank function with the same limits would I just change the small to rank?

Re: Ranking and finding the lone skin for my golf tournament spreedsheet

One of these days I'll figure out how to read questions so I understand

    =IF(W6=0,0,RANK(W6,$W$6:$W$42,1)-COUNTIF($W$6:$W$42,0))

The opening IF just returns 0 if the score in Column W is 0 - meaning no score entered in that row. Probably a couple of different ways to tackle that, but this will prevent negatives from the zeroes being excluded.

Sincerest apologies for it taking forever to comprehend basic english.
