Dynamic cell formula based on quantity entry

    Hi all,

Please see attached worksheet. The top table (blue) requires user entry in the quantity column only. The user can only put quantity in a maximum of 4 parts. I would like the bottom table (orange) to be able to recognize which values in column B from the top table have a quantity greater than zero and put their names in column A. Therefore if done correctly, {A14 = Part 2} {A15 = Part 4} {A16 = Part 6} {A17 = Part 8}. How would I accomplish this?

    Thanks in advance

You can VERY easily make a pivot table to aggregate this for you, or you can use a SUMIF formula.

Check out the example I have attached.
    PivotTable vs SUMIFS.xlsx

Add a few extra part numbers or additional data to the table on the left. Then right click and refresh the pivot table and it does ti for you.

Re: Dynamic cell formula based on quantity entry

Thanks for the quick response but I need to know how to get the cell that says "Formula 1" to display "Part 2" because that is the first part in the data table with a quantity greater than 0. Then the cell with formula 2 in it should display "Part 4". This is important because I need to do a vlookup formula to provide information not displayed in the worksheet I posted.

Are you saying my solution is incorrect?

If so it is likely because I do not understand your request/example.

Yes, I'm probably not explaining it very well.

The Accessories column is the one that I am trying to produce. I want the formula to return the parts that have a quantity greater than 0. See attached, maybe it will help.
