    Excel Formula Calculator

Hi there, i was wondering if anyone is able to help me out at all.

I am trying to make my mileage calculator count at £0.35 per mile until it hits 10,000 miles, then i want it to count at £0.25 per mile after the 10,000 marker.

I have nearly got a formula but what mine does is it counts at £0.35 per mile until it hits 10,000 then it changes everything to £0.25 per mile including the previous 10,000 miles.
    So instead of having 10,415 miles cost £3,603.75 ( (10,000 x £0.35) + (415 x £0.25) = £3,603.75 ) it will be £2603.75

Does anyone know what i am on about an if so is anyone able to help me?
Any information on this issue is greatly appreciated!

    Many Thanks, Dan

Can you post a sample Excel sheet so that we can see how your data are laid out?

Without seeing your formula I'm going to make a suggestion that might be totally incorrect. Can you subtract the 10,000 in the part of the formula that does the 0.25 per mile to leave you with the left over in the case of your example, 415?

    Re: Excel Formula Calculator

    Hello,
On a worksheet, you can enter simple formulas to addition, dividing, multiplication, and subtraction two or more numeric values. You can likewise enter a formula that uses the SUM function (also known as AutoSum) to rapidly add up to a progression of qualities without needing to enter any of them physically in a formula. A formula is an expression which calculates the estimation of a cell. Functions are predefined formulas and are as of now accessible in Excel.

    Re: Excel Formula Calculator

Depending on how your data is... if you are referencing against a range of values, use my first formula.

If you are referencing against a single cell entry, use my 2nd one. In fact, the first one will work even if you are only referencing it against a single cell for the range (Miles).

I named the ranges just to make it easier for you to tell what they are referencing. I put the variables of .25 and .35 into cells themselves to make it easier to adjust the model if required, where Rate1 = .35 and Rate 2 = .25

The OP has not come back to look at this thread in a week, so I don't think anyone should spend any more of their time on this one until (s)he returns!!
