Marathon Race Results - Autofill of Placements

Hi All,

I am currently attempting to formulate a spreadsheet whereby I am able to auto-fill the details of the runners in the "All Runners" tab into their appropriate placing in the "Placement" tab.

Meaning, if a runner is the fastest in timing and belongs to the Men's Open category, his details should be placed in the "Men's Open" section in the "Placement" tab as the 1st Place runner.

Kindly note that I would have to enter the details of the runners manually in the "All Runners" tab.

Seeking your help in this, please!
Joseph

If you are basing this on the entries in All Runners-column D, you will need to change those entries to real time, not text.

24m 15s is text, not a number. Because it is not text, it's a bit like asking...is flower faster than tree
0:24:15 AM is a number, we can use LARGE() or something else to determine the fastest
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

See attached. ALL formulae need to be entered with Ctrl+Shift+Enter

Hi John,

Thanks for the prompt response!

I would like to clarify on just one thing.

This formula works only if I enter the timings of the runners in the "All Runners" tab and sort them by the fastest runner as the 1st entry, yep?
-> Meaning if I were to enter the fastest runner in Row 9 for example, it will not capture the latter as the fastest runner, yep?
