Network Formula Links

Hi,
I have a large file that pulls info from many different excel files across our network. This file will be used by different people in different locations on our network. Everything was working fine until another user opened it and the links would not update correctly, without updating values and choosing file again. I read somewhere that if I used the UNC path this would fix the problem. I did this, replaced several hundreds of formulas with the unc path. My colleague just contacted me to say that the file is not updating again. (Probably fist time it had been used by someone other than me since changing to unc path names in formula), I open the file and the links update just fine, but the UNC path names in formulas have been replaced with the regular N:\.........

Is there something I did wrong, and is there something different I should be doing for multiple users on a network.

i'm having a similar problem to what you describe, apparently it may have something to do with exactly how that person has the specific network drive mapped to their PC.

That's what I think, but due to permissions in different folders set by our network administrator I am unable to map our drives exactly. My access is a few folders deeper than my colleague.

I am still having issues with this and hopefully someone can help me out. My colleague which is who I put this excel file together for, has access to this network example \\xyz\ and all the subfolders. I only have access to \\xyz\my folder\and all subfolders. Everything that the files formulas point to, are on the \\xyz\my folder\. When I open the excel file all of the formula's will update no problem, but when my colleague opens it, it won't update without them having to repoint all the formulas in the file (and there are many). I have even tried to use the UNC name in the formulas, but excel keeps replacing it.

Any suggestions?
