Cool Merge or group cells with same data / data validation drop down list

    Hi all,

I am using the data validation option in excel using a drop down list, is there anyway to merge identical numbers in the list, either by formula to a different column or by option?

Also when using the data validation is there a way to change the text size in the drop down box. Please advise :-)

    Kind Regards

    Chris

What is your source for the validation list? If you are referencing a column that has repeated values, you would need to create another list that is unique. Will the table change, meaning that list will need to change?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

The Source is a timesheet in which an engineer would add a sales order number and number of hours worked, as they carry out work on the same sites the numbers are repeated.

Away from the timesheet I need to select a sales order number the engineer has added from a drop down box and sum the total hours worked on that sales order from the timesheet. I have done this using the below formula, but I was wondering if there was a way to hide, group or cancel the repeated sales order numbers from the drop down box.

    =SUMIF(F129:G180,VLOOKUP(B67,S129:S180,1,FALSE),G129:G180)*24

    Regards

    Chris

Can you post a sample blank workbook or something to test something on?

    Here's a generic example:
