I have excel 2011 for MAC. I have setup dynamic named ranges for lists in 1 workbook, but it pulls the list data from another workbook using the If formula as follows: if(pathtoclosedbookA6="","",pathtoclosedbookA6). i have this setup for multiple cells on 1 particular worksheet.

The problem i am facing is this: every time I open the workbook that is linked to the other book (which is closed), I get a message saying if I want to update my links or ignore them (all normal behavior). if I select update, I am prompted to locate the closed workbook. If I save the workbook and reopen it, I get the same message prompting me to update or ignore the links and upon selecting update I have to browse for the workbook again.
Both workbooks are in different directories on a mac file server.
This is very annoying to have to keep browsing for the workbook every time I open my workbook with the lists. Does any one have any suggestions to solve this? is this only an issue with the mac version of excel?
Thanks.
