    Last Month a Customer Ordered

    Hello,

I have a table which has the customer name on the right, and then months in the columns. With units filling in the values section.

I would like to be able to add a formula that says "X customer last ordered in May".

I was thinking of doing an Index, match but I am not sure what to put in the match. Customer Ordered.JPG With the index pointing towards the column name of months.

    Thanks!

Hi, and welcome to the forum,

Please don't show pictures of your data when you have the actual workbook available, they really don't help us to help you.
Upload the workbook and indicate by manually adding an example of where you want to see the formula for the customer you're interested in. I'm assuming you want to pick a customer from a drop down list but you need to be clear.

Re: Last Month a Customer Ordered

    I figured it out.

I made a pivot table with the same information except instead of units, I put the dates in the values field.

Then I changed that to "Max" which when gave me the numeric value. Then I used a vlookup to see which month
the customer had ordered last in the other table.

There are bun of solution, here is one:

    =TEXT(MAX(INDEX((1&"/"&$C$2:$M$2)*(C3:M3>0),)),"mmm")
